Creating low-cost PDFs will drive down the number of books you'll sell, which means it's harder to estimate a print run size, but you'll surely need a smaller print run, meaning: it's more expensive per book. As soon as you sell one PDF, that guy will make a dozen copies for each of his buddies. I also appreciate companies with the foresight to format their PDFs differently to their printed copies, so I don't have to print backgrounds and colour pics when all I want is text With a PDF editor I can also add notes to the text. I can print a copy to scribble notes on and one to keep nice in a ring binder. I can search for terms in seconds, I can print out multiple copies of the play sheet on what ever medium I want. I can get instant gratification and buy it now. One thing I have come to appreciate is a PDF copy of rules. The only pic in that set is the front cover and that is awful. I've taught it to at least six others in that time who had never played a wargame. My most played set of rules is DBA, I still play at least two games a week and have done for around 15 years now. I like the glossies, I have plenty of them.
